Erica Kristin Zappettini
Erica is the proud owner of The Pilates Society studio. Erica's passion for Pilates began in 2001, when she took her first Mat Pilates class and loved it. It was then that she decided to get her Mat certification and teach Mat classes at the local gym. Erica became intrigued with the results she and her students were receiving, that after college graduation, she decided to make Pilates her career; and began the intense 2-year comprehensive, Classical Pilates certification program.
Pilates has changed Erica's life, her body, and her clients. She believes so passionately in the Classical method, that she has dedicated herself to maintaining the original integrity of Joseph Pilates' teachings by providing North Scottsdale with a studio that solely teaches, Pure Classical Pilates. Erica believes that if you are true to Pilates, Pilates will be true to you. Her famous last words are always, “Trust the Process.”
Outside of Pilates, Erica enjoys spending time with her friends and family, hiking, cooking, traveling, and taking her two basset hounds, Lucy and Gracie, on walks.

Kailey Johnson
Kailey Johnson was introduced to Pilates at the age of 15 when her dance instructor informed her that she was engaging the wrong muscles to initiate movement. After benefiting from the Pilates method and reprogramming her dancers body to move more efficiently, she went on to earn a BFA in dance from the University of Arizona and dance professionally in numerous companies. She toured internationally, danced with Heidi Latsky and Lori Belilove in New York City, and produced her own modern dance concerts in Brooklyn, New York before returning to Arizona to become Pilates certified.
Kailey still dances for Ann Ludwig’s company locally, but her true passion now is sharing the Pilates method with clients at The Pilates Society. She feels her greatest potential come to life when aiding others in their pursuit to combine mind, body, and spirit. Each and every small success story of her clients is what she lives for.

Amanda Zannis
Amanda Zannis first discovered Pilates in 2003 after a minor injury sidelined her from her traditional running and weight lifting routine. Determined to find something to keep her muscle tone, she decided to try a mat class at her local gym and was immediately hooked! She could feel her muscles, core and spine lengthen and felt an inch taller after each class.
Multiple weekly mat classes led to an expansion into Pilates group equipment classes. After three weeks of group reformer classes, Amanda experienced Joe Pilates’ philosophy of Pilates transforming your body firsthand. Within only nine reformer sessions in a three week span, Amanda had greater muscle definition and a stronger core than the entire two years of running 20 plus miles per week and twice weekly weight lifting sessions with a personal trainer. The ‘noticing a difference in 20 sessions’ was a reality!
Encouraged and excited by the improvements she felt and inspired to help others enjoy the same benefits, the seed was planted. Amanda became classically certified through Power Pilates on all Pilates apparatus in addition to her favorite – classical mat classes – the foundation of Pilates. She is an avid student and amazed how much she continues to learn from the Pilates method with each new client, group, mat class or each new workshop. Amanda is a firm believer that Pilates is a progressive method and one that everyone continues to learn, grow and benefit from by practicing regularly.
